For this weekend I would like to recommend another Canada Live podcast. The podcast of January 15th is dedicated to Colin James, it was recorded in Vancouver, where the winter olympics were opened today.
I liked this concert very much, I am just listening to it for the second time. Colin plays fantastic on his guitars and is a great blues and rock singer, and his band too makes a big sound.
(podcast no more available)
On the concert on demand page I have found the following introduction for Colin James:
Born and bred in Saskatchewan, Colin James has long called Vancouver home. Colin was still in his teens when he was discovered by blues guitar legend Stevie Ray Vaughan.
As a singer, guitarist, and songwriter, Colin James has had a varied musical career, from blues to rock, pop and swing, following his muse without regard to fads or trends. A dozen albums later, Colin’s an established rock and blues institution who’s never gone away and just keeps on getting better.
