Yesterday I have played some tunes that I have found on the site of the Scottish Fiddle School in Boston some time ago. Especially the first tune in the 2003 collection is a great tune that I like to play – “The Warlocks”.
I have found some youtube videos of the piece:
Strathspey, March, and Reel
A slower version – The Warlocks starts at ca. 4:22.
Warlocks
An awkward occurence in some tunes is having to play notes on the same fret on adjacent strings. Here Nigel Gatherer demonstrates his method of approaching the problem, using a 19th century fiddle tune – The Warlocks – as an example.
